Free Consultation for Selected Treatments

For major treatments requiring significant investment, we offer free initial consultations. This removes the barrier of paying just to find out what treatment costs before deciding whether to proceed.

Free consultations available for:

  • Dental implants
  • Invisalign and orthodontics
  • Smile makeovers involving multiple treatments
  • Full mouth rehabilitation
  • Any treatment plan over £1,000

During your free consultation: Thorough examination of your mouth, X-rays or scans if clinically necessary, discussion of all treatment options, detailed written quote with itemised costs, and explanation of payment options including finance.

You leave with complete information to make an informed decision with zero consultation charge.

For routine treatments (check-ups, fillings, hygiene appointments), standard examination fees apply as listed above.

Making Treatment Affordable

We offer several ways to make dental treatment more affordable.

Interest-free finance: Spread the cost of treatment over 6-24 months with no interest charges for treatments over £500.

Payment plans: For patients who don’t qualify for finance, we can sometimes arrange direct payment plans through the practice.

Insurance and Denplan: We accept most dental insurance plans and work with Denplan for monthly membership covering routine care.

For full details about financing your dental treatment, visit our Dental Finance page or call 01227 765 851 to discuss options.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Fees

Our quoted fees include everything needed to complete your treatment: examination, X-rays, procedures, materials, temporary restorations, and reasonable aftercare.

The only additional costs would be if unexpected issues arise during treatment requiring different procedures (which we'd discuss and get approval for before continuing) or if you need sedation (quoted separately if requested).

For common procedures, yes. Call reception on 01227 765 851 and we can provide general pricing over the phone.

However, for accurate quotes, we need to examine your mouth. That's why we offer free consultations for major treatments so you can find out exact costs without paying consultation fees first.

Our fees sit in the mid-to-upper range for Canterbury and Kent. We're not the cheapest (we can't be whilst using premium materials and advanced technology like CEREC), but we're not the most expensive either.

We aim for excellent results using quality materials at fair prices. The cheapest option rarely proves the best value over 10-20 years.

Yes. We offer interest-free finance for treatments over £500, allowing you to spread costs over 6-24 months.

For patients who don't qualify for finance, we can sometimes arrange direct payment plans through the practice. Call 01227 765 851 to discuss options.

Yes, most children's dental treatment is available free on the NHS if eligible. This includes check-ups, X-rays, fillings, extractions, and preventive care.

The £650 CEREC crown is completed in a single two-hour appointment using our in-surgery milling machine. No temporary crown, no second visit, no waiting weeks for laboratories.

The £470 traditional crown requires two appointments spaced 2-3 weeks apart with a temporary crown worn between visits whilst your permanent crown is made in a laboratory.

Both produce excellent results. CEREC offers convenience, traditional crowns sometimes achieve marginally better aesthetics for complex cases. We'll discuss which suits your situation during consultation.

Yes, we accept most dental insurance plans. Bring your insurance details to your appointment and we'll help you understand what's covered.

Many insurance plans cover routine care (check-ups, hygiene, fillings) but provide limited coverage for major work (crowns, implants, cosmetic treatments). We'll verify your coverage and explain any out-of-pocket costs before treatment.

Yes, absolutely. We provide detailed written quotes showing exactly what you're paying for. Every procedure, material, and appointment is itemised clearly.

For major treatments, we'll walk you through the quote line by line during your consultation, explaining each cost and answering any questions. You'll never start treatment without understanding exactly what you're paying.

If we discover unexpected issues during treatment requiring additional work, we'll stop, explain what we've found, discuss costs for the additional treatment, and get your approval before continuing.

We never add surprise charges. You'll always know the costs upfront and approve them before we proceed.

No, NHS treatment follows nationally set fees (currently £26.80 for Band 1, £73.50 for Band 2, £319.10 for Band 3). These prices are the same at every NHS dental practice in England.

Private fees (listed above) are higher because they use premium materials, allow more appointment time, and provide greater treatment choices. Many patients choose private for cosmetic work or when they want the best possible materials and longest-lasting results.

Our practice is centrally located on London Road in Canterbury (near Canterbury East Station with on-site parking and free parking on Temple Road), making appointments convenient whether you're local or travelling from Deal, Dover, or Ramsgate.
