Complexion-boosting, wrinkle-reducing treatments in Canterbury, with Azzalure and Juvéderm

At A1 Dental, we understand that revitalising your smile is only part of the picture when it comes to feeling confident in your own skin. That’s why we offer patients Azzalure – a safe, clinically proven facial injectable treatment that smoothes out deep expression lines. Azzalure contains botulinum toxin, the same ingredient used by the Botox® brand. Injected carefully into key areas, it works by ‘freezing’ the underlying muscles, relaxing your skin and wiping away signs of stress and tiredness. It’s especially effective on the brow and around the eyes and mouth. Other popular uses include treating the top lip to reverse the effect of a gummy smile, and treating the underarms to reduce excessive sweating.

what areas can we treat azzalure?
  • Forehead
  • Frown lines
  • Crow’s feet (around the eyes)
  • Bunny nose
  • Smoker’s lines
  • Chin pebbling
  • Gummy smile

With Juvéderm dermal fillers at A1 Dental, we can offer our patients a non-surgical way of enhancing or restoring lost volume in the lips. If you’re a fan of lip-plumping products – such as balms, lipsticks and lip gloss – you’ll know they have only a very temporary effect. With Juéderm dermal fillers, you’ll be able to enjoy fuller-looking lips for longer – results can last up to six months. If you’re looking for lip fillers in Canterbury delivered safely and subtly by a qualified professional, you’ve come to the right place.

    how juvederm works
Juvéderm contains a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid – the moisture-replenishing substance that occurs naturally in our bodies. Hyaluronic acid is essentially responsible for keeping our complexion-boosting collagen topped up – but its levels drop off naturally as we get older. Injected in gel form, Juvéderm fillers create a subtle, natural, plumping effect to restore that lost volume, safely and gently.

    How does Azzalure work?

Azzalure is a brand name for botulinum toxin, the same generic active ingredient used in Botox. Injected into the muscle under your skin, botulinum toxin works by blocking the signals between nerves and muscles, effectively paralysing them. This has the effect of relaxing and smoothing out the kind of wrinkles caused by repeated muscle contraction – so the treatment is especially effective on frown and laughter lines.

How long do the effects of Azzalure last?

Generally, between three and six months. Repeated treatment not only softens existing lines and wrinkles, but has the added effect of preventing future ones from forming.

What are the risks of Azzalure?

Complications are extremely rare – but as with any medication, it can have side effects. All possible adverse reactions will be fully discussed with you prior to agreeing treatment.

How long does Juvéderm lip filler last?

Hyaluronic-acid-based lip fillers like Juvéderm generally last between four and six months before a repeat treatment is required.

Are there any side effects with Juvéderm lip fillers?

The most common side effects are usually very minor and may include tenderness, soreness, dryness or swelling. In the vast majority of cases, any side effects disappear within 4-14 days of your treatment. We’ll discuss all possible adverse reactions with you during your consultation.
